Talent Show Rules and Guidelines

Welcome to Kelowna's Top Talent! Please read the following rules carefully before participating in the event. By entering the show, participants agree to these terms to ensure a fair, safe, and enjoyable experience for all.

General Rules

  1. Eligibility:

  2. Anyone under 19 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian.

    1. All participants must register by Jan 29 at 11:59 p.m. and complete all required forms.

  3. Performance Guidelines:

  4. Each act is limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes of stage time per performance.

    1. Performances must be family-friendly. Content that includes profanity, hate speech, violence, sexually explicit material, or anything deemed inappropriate will result in immediate disqualification.

    2. Any music, props, or special equipment needed for your act must be provided by the participant and approved by the organizers no later than Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 12 p.m. Organizers are not responsible for providing or storing props or equipment.

  5. Voting and Prizes:

  6. There will be one grand prize of $1,000, awarded to the winner of the talent show. No additional prizes will be awarded.

    1. Winners will be determined based on a voting process, which may include a panel of judges, audience votes, or a combination. The specific voting criteria will be shared in advance of the event.

    2. By participating, you agree to accept the final outcome of the voting process, and you cannot challenge or dispute the results under any circumstances.

Safety and Fairness

  1. Code of Conduct:

  2. Participants must behave respectfully toward fellow contestants, the audience, and the event staff. Any kind of harassment or disruptive behaviour will lead to disqualification and removal from the event.

    1. Cheating, use of unauthorized materials, or attempting to manipulate the voting process in any way will result in immediate disqualification.

  3. Consent:

  4. By participating, you agree to grant permission for your performance to be recorded and/or photographed by the organizers. These recordings or photos may be used for promotional purposes without additional compensation.

  5. Attendance:

  6. All participants must arrive at the venue by at least 6:15 p.m. on the day of the event unless otherwise approved. Late arrivals may forfeit their spot in the show.

Additional Information

  • The organizers reserve the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be notified of any changes as soon as possible.

  • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any candidate at any point in the competition for any reason.

  • These rules can be amended and changed at any time.
